Dear Mukoma, your reflection sparks an intriguing thought as we observe the blending of races and cultures among the younger generation. Today, community seems increasingly defined by shared values and worldviews rather than geography or heritage, uniting individuals from diverse walks of life, places, and experiences. It’s fascinating to imagine how our sense of belonging to certain places might evolve in this context—what they will come to mean for people as they navigate their identities and connections and how this translates in our literature - the telling of history and reality and creative storytelling. We find the path by walking on it, not by searching for it is the perspective I take. I look forward to witnessing how these evolving paths shape the places we hold close to our hearts and the stories we tell about them.
